Austin, TX – The Chairman of the United National Committee of the Unity Party of America (https://unityparty.us/) thanks Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold for pushing HB-1278 last Spring, nudging previously unaffiliated candidates into the Unity Party, and asks for another favor, regarding columns.

“I’d like to thank Madam Secretary for pushing a so-called ‘election reform’ bill which has already started to push previously unaffiliated candidates into the fold of the Unity Party, which has now fielded four candidates for the 2020 Colorado US Senate race alone, all but one of which will be given the opportunity to run for other offices and thus help Unity field a robust list of candidates for Colorado’s 2020 General Election,” says Unity Party of America Chairman Bill Hammons.

“I’d like Madam Secretary to do us another favor, though, and do the right thing by putting Colorado’s Minor Parties back in their own column on the website’s official list of Colorado’s political parties used by many of the state’s voters to research their options, a format which was the norm until the Democrats took over her office this past January. I use the plural ‘Democrats’ very deliberately, as there seems to be an extreme reluctance permeating throughout the new Secretary of State’s office to act with any resemblance of neutrality regarding rivals. There is also problematic wording on the site which would lead potential candidates to believe that all minor party candidates will now have to petition onto the ballot. I’m okay with having chosen the ‘Unity’ moniker, placing the principle of ‘Unity’ above a party label which would have placed us at the top of alphabetical lists, but I’m not okay with rival players pretending to referee.”
