Approval Voting is a bad idea. Casting a ballot for more than one candidate willy nilly violates the “one person, one vote” rule. I am a STAUNCH advocate for Instant Runoff Voting aka Ranked Choice Voting though. With Ranked Choice Voting, voters aren’t casting a ballot for more than one candidate. They are expressing their preferences and only their choice in the final round of tabulation counts toward the results. That way we ensure a candidate wins an election with a true majority of support among the people.
